I have another short blog for you today, but with additional content linked. Nutrition is a difficult area for many people yet should be a focal point for any fitness or weight change goal, including weight loss.
These are our top six nutrition videos. The linked posts are our top six in the sense of popularity, but more importantly in the sense of providing a foundation to someone who wants to improve nutrition to reach fitness and weight change goals, again including weight loss (this is a goal for many people).
These nutrition videos provide basic ideas that every person should consider starting off. While you can just start clicking the links, it makes more sense to read through the entire blog first.

Nutrition - Start here
This is an older video we pulled from YouTube. The content is still relevant to today. If you are new on your fitness journey, just starting to change your nutrition habits, or simply need a refresher about where nutrition begins, this is the video for you.
Nutritional failure is the result of two things
Nutritional failure is the result of two underlying issues. Once you understand, accept, and face what these things are, your nutritional habits become easier to change. No matter how long you have been working on nutrition, these things apply. If you are still struggling with nutrition, these issues are why.
What is a diet or nutrition strategy?
A diet or nutrition strategy is a simple idea that can become confusing because of all the online chatter. We try to simplify things in this video and will add more in videos to come.
The Most Important Aspect of a Nutrition Plan
The most important aspect of a nutrition plan is you. You should never lose sight of that. We briefly look at the why in this video.
What are macronutrients?
In a world with the internet, many clients still come to us with little knowledge about nutrition, including macronutrients. This applies even to people who have been focusing on nutrition for years. This is not hyperbole but actual fact. If a person does not understand macronutrients, he or she does not begin to understand nutrition.
What are micronutrients?
Most people do not need to worry about micronutrient intake, but knowing more about these elements will build your knowledge and help you understand more about proper nutrition.
Something not included in those videos is a specific focus on calories. When I made those videos, I omitted a specific focus on calories due to the common nature of the idea of calorie control. However, in recent years, the idea of “calories in versus calories out” has come under fire. Educated people with a large presence have suggested that weight gain and weight loss are not due to calories, but instead due to hormones, gluten, carbs, or other things. This is not true.
Understand that even educated people, including doctors, are not above preying on your desire for a quick fix, your willingness to buy into the next big thing, and your emotional attachment to food and mental difficulties with the same. Someone being a doctor or holding another credential does not make them morally upstanding. There are people who will still put making a dollar over facts.
I am not suggesting all doctors are this way. That is ridiculous. I am also not discrediting the role that hormones play in the body, including how the body processes food. I am not discrediting that gluten issues are real or that low carb can help with weight loss. However, it is established that overeating food leads to weight gain. If it did not, then your overeating would not have resulted in you putting on weight. Even if hormones or something else plays a role, overeating was still part of the process.
If overeating is not part of the problem, then once you account for hormones or whatever the “real issue” is, you should be able to eat endless amounts of food and never gain weight. That sounds ridiculous to you, just as it does to me. Overeating is an issue. Food consumption should be managed. Calories are part of this.
